Bone Thugs-n-Harmony - No Surrender (miKrodot’s Halfstep Remix)

A sweet rolling dubstep remix from miKrodot. Love that grimey synth and the subtle percussion. This track somehow manages to be dark yet chilled at the same time. Get a free download of this track here. miKrodot will also be bringing his signature sound to the forthcoming Future Grooves compilation, so keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks.

Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe (Cold Napoleons Remix)

You know that song you’ve had stuck in your head for the last two weeks that you’re ashamed of loving? You don’t need to be ashamed any more. Little-known producer (duo? trio?) The Cold Napoleons has remixed the super-happy original into an upbeat, post-dubstep roller. The remix introduces some nice new vocal chops (while still featuring the catchy chorus of the original) over smooth square-wave chords and rumbling basslines that sound like they’ve been taken straight from a Blake or Dafydd track. The second half of the track features some bright synth leads and arpeggios reminiscent of Hudson Mohawke’s “Octan”. Overall a very tight production that turns a brilliant bad song into a great one.

Delilah - Breathe (Benton Bootleg)

A nice chilled dubstep remix from Benton. Love the heavy bassline and the strings on this, as well as the original vocal.
